FACEKC: 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
We face issues through film, music, and art.
“Creativity is our bridge to peace, inclusion, and unity…right here in Kansas City.”
“Creativity is our bridge to peace, inclusion, and unity…right here in Kansas City.”
the challenge we face:
Across Kansas City, invisible lines divide neighborhoods, cultures, and generations.
Gun violence continues to rise. Misunderstanding fuels fear.
And too often, the arts, our most powerful tool for empathy, are out of reach for the very voices that need to be heard.
Every year that passes without connection deepens the divide.
But when people create together, they remember what they share.
The Problem: Division, inequality, and disconnection continue to isolate our communities.
Our Solution: Empowering Kansas City through the universal language of art.
why now?
The need for unity has never been more urgent.
Our city is rich with creativity but divided by inequality.
By using art as a common language, we can replace fear with understanding
That’s why FACEKC exists, to meet division head-on through film, music, and art that heal.
Our mission
With film, art, and music, FACEKC works to reduce gun violence and raise social awareness.
As a Kansas City–based nonprofit, our mission is to foster inclusion, peace, unity, and cooperation through creative collaboration.
FACEKC is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Tax ID #84-3949092)
Our flagship initiative, the Kansas City Community Film Project (KCCFP), brings together residents and organizations from vastly different backgrounds to co-create a feature film that restores a true sense of community.
We follow the principles of Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD): building from strengths, empowering local voices, and transforming shared creativity into lasting social change.
the stakes
If we don’t act now:
Young people lose safe spaces to create and connect.
Neighborhoods remain divided.
Violence and hopelessness continue unchecked.
With your support, Kansas City can become a living example of what happens when art becomes action.
This is our moment to prove that creativity can bridge what conflict divides.
